our little slice of heaven

Over the summer Zak and I purchased our own little piece of Heaven. A 4 bedroom home on 5 acres in Greenbrier. We saw the property the day it came up for sale, and even got out and walked the 5 acres. As soon as we saw the gorgeous tree with the tire swing we were pretty much sold. It even has a white fence that wraps around the property- what little girl doesn't dream of her house with a white picket fence. We immediately knew we wanted to buy the house, we knew that's where we wanted to raise our babies and love on our foster kids. The only problem was that by the time we contacted our Realtor the house already had 2 offers. We were kind of deflated.
Fast forward a few weeks and we noticed the house had come back up for sale- we were there within 30 minutes to look at it, and by that night we had made an offer.
We weren't planning to move- but this house was it and we both knew it.
After a lot of work and renovation we are days away from moving in. The house is completely different on the inside, and I can't wait to make it our home. I'm dying to start the nursery and dreaming of all the things we'll be able to do with our kids on our land.
Today I've sat and thought about the rich blessings the Lord has poured on Zak and I in the past few months. The past 2 years have been painful. They have been filled with loss and grief, and more blood work than I can count. But man, God has been faithful. And because of the pain I can look at these blessings and appreciate them all the more.
I can't wait to show y'all our home. Its beautiful, and simple, and in the country. Its ours.

before and after photos probably won't be posted until after the first of the year, but here are a few just to tide you over.
